Mazda’s bread-butterer is among the
best-performing hatchbacks around, and, with the available Skyactiv engine,
it’s also among the most fuel-efficient. The design is aging in spite of
continuous upgrades, so the next-gen 3, expected in late 2013 or early 2014,
can’t come soon enough. Still, there’s a lot to like with the current model
Exelence:
Nicely
upgraded interior, responsive handling, brilliant 6-speed manual transmission,
available Skyactiv 2.0-liter engine with 40-mpg potential.
Model Grille:
Goofy
grille, noisy interior.
What's New:
Redesigned
in 2008, refreshed for 2012, minor cosmetic and interior changes and new
available touch-screen infotainment system for 2013.
